The Tiki Room

Captivating Disney World Experiences with Our Favorite Fourth Grade Girls

Elizabeth & Sarah

Every time I set foot into Disney World, it's like stepping into a myriad of childhood dreams all at once—each park brimming with its own brand of magic. This week's Tiki Room is no less enchanting as we're joined by three of the most endearing Disney enthusiasts you'll ever meet: Lora Ann, Sidney, and Molly. They take us through their most treasured park adventures, with Lora Ann championing the wild thrills of Animal Kingdom, while Sidney and Molly gush about Epcot's cultural marvels and futuristic rides. From the adrenaline-pumping heights of Everest to the immersive escapade in Avatar, we're covering all the bases, including a nostalgic nod to Soarin' Over California and why even the most fearless can't resist the allure of Hollywood Studios' Tower of Terror, Elizabeth's favorite.

As if a day at Disney wasn't sweet enough, our conversation whisks you away to a world where the hardest choice you'll make is between a salty pretzel and the iconic Dole Whip. Our young guests' enthusiasm is as infectious as their laughter,  and we couldn't love them more. So, buckle up (or should I say, secure your mouse ears?), as these captivating tales promise a podcast episode that's nothing short of a fairy-tale ride.

Speaker 1:

Hey everyone, thanks for listening to this week's episode of the Tiki Room. I'm Sarah and I'm Elizabeth. We have a very special, special episode for you guys today. Alright, let's introduce some of our guests that we have on today. Lala, why don't you go first? What's your name?

Speaker 2:

And how are you related to the Tiki Room podcast? Whose child are you? Yours?

Speaker 1:

She's like this is a true question.

Speaker 2:

She's like this is not real. And how old are you, Loryan, nine. Okay, and then alright. Next in line is Me hi, I'm Sydney. Sydney, how old are you?

Speaker 3:

I'm 10.

Speaker 2:

And next in line is oh wait, and Sydney. How are you a part of this podcast?

Speaker 3:

My mom is Sailor Glaze, okay, good.

Speaker 2:

And next in line is Hi, I'm Molly. And Molly, how old are you? Nine, almost Ten, ten, and how are you on this podcast? Who is your mom?

Speaker 3:

My mom is Ashley Draper.

Speaker 2:

That's right Close to our moms, and these three girls have been friends since they were two. That's right Living their best life.

Speaker 1:

And now you guys go back to preschool.

Speaker 2:

I know. So we have had some fun memories with these three girls in Disney World. We've done just girls' trips. We've brought the brothers around, brother, I guess. No, we've brought Teddy around too. Yeah, we've brought Teddy A long time ago. So we have had a lot of fun going to Disney with these girls together, and then they've had fun going by themselves. So, sydney, what is your favorite park?

Speaker 3:

It's probably Epcot.

Speaker 2:

Oh, good one. What about yours, Molly?

Speaker 3:

Epcot.

Speaker 2:

Oh, what about yours, lauren? It's okay if it's not Epcot, definitely not Epcot.

Speaker 1:

I love the honesty I had to say Animal Kingdom, oh. I like that. Wow, animal Kingdom Okay. I don't forget the animals.

Speaker 2:

Everyone forgets the animals. I know.

Speaker 1:

Well, let's start with you, then I don't care about the dogs. Lauren, tell us why you love Animal Kingdom so much.

Speaker 2:

I would say, because you love the rides, you love the what's the rapid ride and what's the other ride, that you do. That I cannot stand. Everest, everest.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah.

Speaker 2:

And then what's the other one that that recalls it, the motorcycle ride.

Speaker 3:

Avatar.

Speaker 2:

Avatar Very nice. Yeah she loves those rides.

Speaker 1:

That's awesome.

Speaker 2:

I love all the rides.

Speaker 1:

Alright, molly, tell us why do you love Epcot the most?

Speaker 3:

Because Guardians is there. It's the best ride ever. I thought so. It's amazing. People think it's dizzy, but like I don't get any nauseous or dizziness, it's so good.

Speaker 1:

It's so fun.

Speaker 3:

Alright, sydney they say it's a Christmas music. When is Christmas time for it?

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, guardians yeah, I like when they do that. They also do that they have a whole holiday thing at the land, living with the land. They do all these Christmas lights. Listen, it's thrilling.

Speaker 3:

You know the land.

Speaker 1:

Alright Sydney. Why do you love Epcot so much?

Speaker 3:

Well, because my favorite ride is Soren is there and because I really like to walk around the different places in Epcot and my favorite place is Paris, france, and there's one certain place in there. It's kind of far back in the corner but it has really good food.

Speaker 1:

What do you like to get there?

Speaker 3:

A ham and cheese croissant.

Speaker 1:

That is her favorite. Even if we're not planning to go to France, we have to go anyway because Sydney has to see, she has to have this ham and cheese. Is that that bakery in the back? Is that where you're talking about Sydney? Yes, yeah, that's a good one. Yes, that's a really good one. Lay all.

Speaker 2:

Sydney, have you done? Did you know that On Soren, it was when we were there they did the original video for Soren, the one in California.

Speaker 3:

They have like no animals in that one. Was it the around California one? Yes, it was around California, the oranges in it too. Yeah, just like they do in California, they put like the scent of oranges, like they do in.

Speaker 1:

California. That's really cool yeah.

Speaker 3:

They did it for the 100th. Yeah, the 100 year anniversary of Disney.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's cool.

Speaker 3:

So they bought back the California one.

Speaker 1:

We're gonna have to go ride that Sydney.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that's my favorite ride. I still haven't done it. It's crazy, yes you do need to do that Wait so one time we went to Epcot we bought our friend there and once we got back we told, we said to everyone, we said to everyone we're like we went around the world in one day when we took Watts Stoner girls.

Speaker 2:

Do you all remember Watts? Reed took Watts for his birthday because he had never been, and Watts told everyone. When they said, what did you do over the weekend, he said, oh, I just went around the world in one day.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh, that's so silly.

Speaker 2:

Yes, it is fun to do the different countries at Epcot too. Yes, see the different things and do that. Well, what about between Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios? What are your favorite parks between the two of those?

Speaker 1:

Let's Molly. Molly, you go first this time. Okay, you ready to answer this? Okay?

Speaker 3:

So Magic Kingdom is definitely not because it's too babyish, like. No, definitely, what is it called? I can't like it right now. It's Hollywood Studios, because it's out of terror. Oh, molly, and yeah, that's why I go just with Tower of Terror. It's the best. I love it.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh, it's not scary at all.

Speaker 3:

Try it Okay. Okay, what is happening? They're growing up, they're growing up by Hollywood, but I still love Magic Kingdom.

Speaker 1:

Say it again I still love Magic Kingdom though yeah, you heard her say it she still loves Magic Kingdom. Oh, I know, Laura Ann. What about you Between Magic Kingdom? Oh, okay, Tell us why.

Speaker 3:

Well, first off, it has Winnie the Pooh. It has all the characters there. Second off, it has more rides than Hollywood?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it does have a lot of rides, that's true. All right, sydney, what's your favorite between the two?

Speaker 3:

I'm gonna have to say Magic Kingdom too, because I'm not a big roller coaster person. I know, I know I would, that's okay, I forgot the back.

Speaker 2:

Wait, don't interrupt Sydney when she's talking Today. Hey, Sydney, can you say that?

Speaker 3:

again, I do still love Hollywood Studios, but my favorite is Magic Kingdom because I'm not a roller coaster person like some other people here. I just I don't like them. They make my stomach feel weird. So I'd rather go in the soft, smooth rides like the younger kid ones, like Molly said. But I do like that they have all the characters there.

Speaker 1:

Yes, you know that's. I think that's why I like Disney so much, because there's something for everybody, like, if you're not a thrill ride person, there's something for you, that's great, and if you are a thrill ride person, there's there's things for you too. Yeah, molly and Sydney.

Speaker 2:

have y'all ridden on Tron yet?

Speaker 3:

Yes, Tell us what you think about Tron. Oh, my goodness. So I felt like when it was going like when it launched, I felt like it was going down a drop because, like your stomach has that feeling, it was going so fast. I was crying too. Oh gosh, like, not like just because like it was going so fast. I was like actually crying because when I got off my chest hood so bad and like I couldn't take a breath, and then I like and like I never said I would go on it again. I went on it again and now I love it.

Speaker 1:

Now you love it, it's so good. Yeah, you have to get another shot. You know what?

Speaker 3:

you do with the chest part. You you kind of like back off from it. Instead of doing this, you do a little like that yeah Kind of like sit up a little bit.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, wow.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so she learned that After the second time. Is that we were saying Molly?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, just like keep your chest up and my mom scared me too. Yeah, a little bit because she said wait, she's like, she's like Tony, don't let Teddy fall off. And I'm like mom, like he actually gonna fall if she's like, no, I'm just kidding, I'm like, okay, but still I'm mad at you. So, was it Tron, or was it? Oh, it was great at the galaxy, um, with our friend this.

Speaker 2:

Caitlin.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, miss Caitlin, so I go to her. If she goes, do you want to put your hands up? And I'm like I would, but if you want, but I think you should, I think you should hold on to your mom.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and I like freaked her out. Miss Caitlin did not. She felt like you said they. Afterwards she got off that ride and she was like never again, why did you let me ride that? And Molly, she said the same thing that you did. She said Lori and you freaked me out.

Speaker 1:

Oh my goodness.

Speaker 2:

She does. Okay, sid, have you ridden Tron yet?

Speaker 3:

Once again, win Tron. I'm not a roller coaster person. What do you think is in?

Speaker 2:

your family ridden it Sydney. Have you watched them right yet?

Speaker 3:

Yes, she's like still Westlin, and my mom, chambers, has not ridden it yet, though.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we weren't sure if she was tall enough, but Westlin and. I have, we have ridden it. Yeah, she does like it. Yeah, that's fun. What ride did you just do recently, sydney, that I'm trying to think what you just did, I, I.

Speaker 3:

Did you were? Happy that I yes, I did mine train and it was very fun, but I don't think I'm ready to do the bigger rollercoasters. Mm-hmm, I actually have done slinky dogs, so, yep, I just can't. I can't do the drops.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I Love that. Okay, I have another question for you girls. When you go to Disney, what's one thing that you have to get?

Speaker 1:

to eat while you're there. Oh, a pretzel. That's a good answer. Do you hang on? Do you eat your pretzel with cheese or no cheese?

Speaker 3:

No cheese, I'm a salt girl.

Speaker 1:

Oh, wow, okay, All right, I like that. Extra salt for me, yes, extra salt. We need to go together, lauren, and get two pretzels, one cheese, and I'll give you all the salt off my pretzel, and then I'll just take the cheese. Sydney, what do you have to say?

Speaker 3:

so I have two things. One I think it's called the cream cheese pretzel.

Speaker 1:

Oh yes.

Speaker 3:

No, it's really good, and if you go to EBCOT you have to get the maple popcorn in Canada.

Speaker 1:

Yes, really good. We are big fans of that popcorn Wait wait a second.

Speaker 2:

Where do you get this cream cheese pretzel?

Speaker 3:

Oh, when you usually get the pretzels.

Speaker 1:

I think it's at Magic Kingdom. I think you can get them at the luncheon pad. Yes, that's in tomorrow land, and it has cinnamon sugar on the outside and cream cheese on the inside. It's really yes, yes All right, how about you, molly?

Speaker 3:

So I have two things. To the first thing, you definitely have to get popcorn. That's amazing.

Speaker 1:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker 3:

And the second thing is a doll whip. You have to have a doll whip every time you come. Oh yeah yeah, oh, dull whip, yeah, the whip is really good, it's so good.

Speaker 2:

Have you ever had a doll whip? Is it like the ice cream? Yeah, the pineapple ice cream, yeah. Have you had it? No, I've seen it. She's never had it. Sorry, friends.

Speaker 3:

Oh, what about the snow cones?

Speaker 2:

Oh yes, I do love a snow cone in that part.

Speaker 1:

Wait, wait, wait, wait back up they got different things. I know, I know, sarah, look at all those flavors. I feel like you have never gotten your child a doll whip. Huh. Oh dad, you've never had a dull whip Lorian. No, okay, we're gonna. We're gonna change that. All right, we're gonna change that.

Speaker 3:

We can probably get the stuff to make one here. Yeah it's not, it's not, it's not the same, but Put up the menu, yeah.

Speaker 2:

We could try one there and then make one here and then compare yes, yeah, that's a good idea.

Speaker 1:

Yes, your mom is going to make sure you get a dull whip the next time you go.

Speaker 2:

Absolutely For you girls. When you go to Disney, what's your favorite place to stay?

Speaker 3:

starting with Molly Um, so I don't really. So we have a family of six so we can never find a Disney hotel inside the parks, so it usually just stay out like outside the box, but it's kind of inside. But I went to the sound of music on my fan with my family when we when we went for the Halloween party there, and I really loved it. They had a picture of Taylor Swift on the wall and that's why I loved it.

Speaker 1:

Oh, wow.

Speaker 3:

Because it was like the music Hall of Fame and Taylor Swift was on there.

Speaker 1:

Yes, all-star music.

Speaker 3:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

I really love all stars too.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, like these figures of the three capillaries. Mm-hmm and it's and like they're gun-sheet at water.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I love the all-stars. They're the best, like big statues of all the characters. It's so good. All right, sydney. What's your favorite place to stay where?

Speaker 3:

Um, we don't really stay at this place Anymore, because it's pretty expensive mm-hmm and it's real, it's really fun to stay at, but it is very expensive. But it has like chef Mickey's.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, the contemporary and that's really. Stadies favorite definitely your parents. Child. Yes your mom's favorite is the is the Polynesian, and your dad's favorite is the Contemporary the Polynesian is fun too.

Speaker 3:

Yes, I love the Polynesian.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I love it so much. All right, lorraine, your favorite place to stay? Choices, I know I.

Speaker 2:

Can't even remember all them. A Campground, obviously.

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah, the campground but we haven't gone there I.

Speaker 2:

Know that's your dad's fault, so you can say on there, dad, I love the campground, why can't we go back? Oh?

Speaker 3:

yeah, dad, you are Terrible with camp stuff.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

You gotta get into the camp stuff. Give me a camper and we will go to the camp place?

Speaker 1:

Oh man, she said, it Is your. Is your dad camping right now?

Speaker 1:

Yes, yes, so shockingly, with a tent, with a tent with the wild man, the wild boy, the wild child read yeah, this is good, this is. You know, lorian, I think your dad is going to have fun on this trip, and then he'll be ready to go to Fort Wilderness after this and get you a camper. Yep, and get you a camper. That's right, you know. What we need to do is get three campers, have them dropped off at Fort Wilderness, with campgrounds for each of our families.

Speaker 3:

That's a good idea, I love that idea, Sarah.

Speaker 2:

I've never loved an idea more than that idea right there so fun she also doesn't love the campgrounds. I love the campgrounds. You're talking about me? Yeah you. She does not know what she's talking about anymore. Yeah you fool.

Speaker 1:

All right, all right. One last question for you, girls.

Speaker 3:

Would you like to go to Disney World?

Speaker 1:

Yes, Then we leave. What is your favorite ride or attraction out of all of the parks? What is like the one if, if, if your parents are saying, all right, we're going to go to Disney World, what's the one thing you really have to do? What would you say?

Speaker 2:

Like you, can only do one ride. What I can't wait.

Speaker 3:

I can't choose because I have two. And like I can't choose, can I say my two?

Speaker 1:

You know what, molly, you can, let's say two.

Speaker 3:

I can't really pick between one, so it's Guardians, guardians and Tower of Terror.

Speaker 1:

Wow, wow. Tower of Terror. Molly, I'm 10,000. Molly, tower of Terror. You know, molly, I think Tower of Terror would be your one if Mrs Braenick were going on it with you.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, she won't even do it with Laura and I. I know so like if she won't do it with Laura, and then I have to wait a while. I'm really almost went on there.

Speaker 2:

Did you know that, molly?

Speaker 3:

No, I almost went to like the showroom and I'm like I'm going to check on mine. Oh yeah, I heard that.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, it's scary. I was going to do it, but she checking it out and I checking it out too. All right, lorraine, do you have your one? One, two, two. You can do two, 10,000. No, just do two, go, I know.

Speaker 3:

Guardians of the Galaxy and Mount.

Speaker 1:

Everest. Oh wow, those are good. Those are good. I like that. I like that selection Better than Tower of Terror, yeah way better than Tower of Terror.

Speaker 3:

I've never even been on Everest.

Speaker 2:

You've never been on Everest, you've never been on Tower of Terror.

Speaker 1:

I know you girls need to go together, hold each other's hands. Yes, all right. Sydney, sydney, what do you think? Do you have one or two that you just would have to absolutely do?

Speaker 3:

Actually, other than the other two girls, I have one One.

Speaker 1:

All right.

Speaker 3:

The Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios.

Speaker 1:

It's really fun the.

Speaker 3:

Stormtrooper ride.

Speaker 1:

That is so fun. Oh wait, I have three.

Speaker 3:

But there's not. There is a big debate in my family whether this counts as a roller coaster or not.

Speaker 1:

I don't think it does. I know it's a thrill ride for sure. Yeah, I was just saying it comes to traffic. It's not a roller coaster, but it's a thrill ride.

Speaker 3:

That's what I said. Yup, chambers Disagrees Chambers, chambers, that girl.

Speaker 1:

I know All right. Is there anything else you guys would like to say about Walt Disney World? That would mean a lot to you.

Speaker 3:

He was a genius.

Speaker 1:

Walt Disney yeah, he was, I look about him. Yes, I do too.

Speaker 3:

Molly that he did make the park really good. He started out with just Disneyland and then now there's stuff in Hong Kong and Paris yeah, paris, and it's all over the world.

Speaker 1:

That was just great, it's awesome.

Speaker 3:

Starting out with just a Mickey Mouse Mouse cartoon, and then now it's in Hong Kong and Disneyland yeah, that is really cool. Speaking of Paris speaking of France, I heard on this video that the castle in France, the Disney castle in France, is actually the best castle ever. Guess we should go.

Speaker 1:

We should go.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, we should go, but there's also one that's like Plain tickets. Paris also has the whole, all the princesses. But there's another one that has like all the princess colors. Yeah, we should, and it's so pretty. It looks like it's in a cartoon Fairy tale.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh, that's amazing. All right, well, you girls were amazing guests. We appreciate you guys.

Speaker 2:

Thank you for joining us today. We know and we look forward to meeting with you next time on TVroom.

Speaker 1:

Why don't you guys say I'll say bye on the count of three? Okay, One, two, three.

Speaker 3:
